Alleyne’s Academy is a thriving, mixed 13-18 high school. We are committed to providing an outstanding education for all of our students and we are passionate about the potential of every student and every member of staff in the Academy. The Governors and a strong, highly committed staff team have very high expectations and work hard to provide the best opportunities for our young people; this translates into excellent outcomes for our students at the Academy. Alleyne’s was judged as ‘Good’ with outstanding features by Ofsted in December 2011. Our journey from the last inspection, in view of results is impressive, an increase in 5 A*-C including English and Maths of 12%. Progress of students at Alleyne’s is significantly positive. Our current success has resulted in Alleyne’s Academy being the fourth highest performing (5 A*-C including English and Maths) state school in Staffordshire in 2015. As Headteacher and as a serving Ofsted inspector, I have experience of inspecting secondary schools and use this knowledge and invaluable experience to continue to develop leadership and teaching in the school to outstanding standards.
Our Sixth Form provides an excellent study programme for our students offering a wide range of academic and vocational subjects as well as extra-curricular opportunities, careers information, education and guidance, academic and pastoral support which prepare students comprehensively for their next stage in learning. We support all of our students, including Oxbridge candidates, Russell Group university candidates and applicants for highly regarded apprenticeships, in ensuring they successfully meet the criteria for the next stage in their academic careers.
We stand by our tradition of ‘caring for success’ and are proud of our history but also look to the future, continually evaluating and adapting to further strengthen the education that we provide. We are aspirational for our students and believe that we should strive continuously to reach the highest standards of achievement not only academically but in their social, moral and spiritual development equally. Staff continue to provide a happy, stimulating and safe environment and to further improve standards. We are extremely proud of our students’ involvement in a whole range of activities including, sport, performing arts, science, technology, community and charitable work.
I feel exceptionally proud to be the Headteacher of Alleyne’s Academy, where we provide an outstanding education and ensure that all students have the skills and support to pursue an enjoyable and successful adult life.
