Upside Online Counselling Service

Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent have commissioned Barnardo’s to host an online counselling website designed by young people, for young people. Upside is a website which is free, safe and confidential, supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs for young people aged between 11-18 years, living in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Parent/carers and professionals are welcome to contact Barnardo’s when looking to support a young person’s emotional needs.

What is available on the Upside website?

Self-help

Young people can access a range of teen related issues and ways to manage them, these are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are factsheets for parent/carers and professionals in relevant self-help areas to use.

Ask a Question

Email Barnardo’s 24 hours a day 7 days a week with a query you may have about a young person’s emotional wellbeing or mental health and we will respond within 48 hours; for example you may need to refer a young person on but not sure where. Young people and parents/carers can also email their worries and concerns with same response time.

Live Chat

Young people can log on and talk to Upside and get an instant response. It works just the same as Facebook messaging.

Online Counselling

Young people can also receive free, confidential online counselling between the times of 15:00-22:00. Anyone can refer and all information is on the Upside site.

News & Media

Browse this area for YouTube clips, events and news. If you want something posting on there let Barnardo’s know through “Asking us a Question”.
