An Open Evening will take place at Alleyne’s Academy on Thursday, 27th September 2018, from 6pm to 8pm for students and parents wishing to take up a place in Year 9 from September 2019.
The evening is open to prospective students and parents to come along and see what the Academy has to offer. There will be an informative talk by the Headteacher, along with an opportunity to explore the school and experience the full range of different subject areas and quality specialist facilities on offer.
This is an ideal opportunity to visit the school and meet staff and other prospective students and parents.
Alleyne’s Academy achieved excellent GCSE examination results in 2018. 71% of students gained a standard pass (9-4) in both English and Maths, with 48% gaining a strong pass (9-5)
A Level and BTEC results are also of a high standard, with the majority of students gaining place at their chosen Universities.
Alleyne’s Academy was judged ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection in April 2016.
Ofsted inspectors said “Teachers are fully committed to the Alleyne’s vision of academic success and personal development, and many go ‘above and beyond’ in the support they provide for pupils. Several pupils told inspectors that their teachers are approachable, helpful, caring and supportive.”
Inspectors found that “Pupils’ behaviour is consistently good in lessons and around the school at social times. They are thoughtful, courteous and polite to their peers and to adults.”
In addition to the wide range of different curriculum subjects on offer, the school also prides itself on the wide range of extracurricular and enrichment opportunities available to students, including the opportunity to represent their school house in competitions. Other opportunities include subject clubs, sports clubs, award-winning Young Enterprise, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and charity/voluntary work.
