Post 16 students of Alleyne’s Academy produced another excellent set of results.
One student obtained 4 A* grades and will be studying medicine at Cambridge University.
97% of those who applied gained entry to one of their top choices of university.
57% of A Level students gained 1 or more top A*-B grades.
Students studying the Applied General qualifications (former BTECs, but now with external assessment) got an average of Distinction. They are moving on to a variety of pathways with apprenticeships and university courses in accounting and business management.
Our 16 year olds have outperformed similar students nationally once again. Almost half the cohort have achieved a strong pass (grade 5 or better) in English and Maths, whilst 71% have a grade 4 or better (equivalent to the previous grade C.)
For the second year running one student was in the elite group of 837 students in England who achieved the top grade of a 9 in seven or more subjects.
Many students have enrolled for courses at Alleyne’s 6th Form, with more applications coming in since the issue of results. We are looking forward to their return but do still have a few places available.
Headteacher Karen Lockett praised the hard work of the students and staff and the supportive role that parents played in obtaining these results, " Students are equipped with the knowledge and skills required for their next steps."
